Our Model

Pre – Implementation Survey for School Administration
We first conduct a survey for the School administrators to understand their vision, their needs and basic information about the school.

Pre – Implementation Survey for Students, Teachers and Parents
We then conduct surveys for teachers to understand their needs and the challenges faced by them. Parent surveys are conducted to understand the current satisfaction of student learning outcomes. Student assessments are taken into consideration to understand the effectiveness of their current learning outcomes.

Training and follow-ups based on the individual needs of teachers
After analyzing the needs of the teachers, appropriate training modules for individual teachers are identified. During the course of the program, we focus on motivating and building a culture of collaboration amongst teachers. We further meet the individual and specific needs of teachers through classroom observations and follow-up debriefs.

Impact Measurement
At the end of every semester, we measure the effectiveness of the program through surveys for teachers and parents. We also measure the growth in student learning outcomes. Using the survey feedback, we modify the program to better meet the needs of the teacher in the following semester.

Pilot Study

Feasibility of Scholowiz's Teacher Professional Development as a service is often questioned in terms of teachers' motivation, willingness and accountability. In such light, the effectiveness of TPD as a service can be suspected. To validate the necessity and effectiveness of an in-service support structure for teachers, Scholowiz developed three hypotheses to test:

  • Teachers are not willing to participate in Scholowiz’s Teacher Professional Development program.
  • Teachers cannot be motivated to put in extra effort in order to improve their classrooms’ learning environment.
  • Pedagogical support for teachers is not essential for improving learning outcomes in a classroom.

We conducted a pilot implementation of the Teacher Professional Development program at Holy Mother English School in Malad, Mumbai to test the hypotheses.

  • Teachers are willing to participate in Scholowiz’s Teacher Professional Development program.
  • Teachers can be motivated to put in extra effort in order to improve their classrooms’ learning environment.
  • Pedagogical support for teachers is essential for improving learning outcomes in a classroom.
